Delhi: Indian team's star wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul is being targeted by critics these days because his bat is not performing as expected. Rahul flopped in the first innings of the first test match being played against Bangladesh in Chennai, while in the second innings he scored an unbeaten 22* runs. Although it was a short innings, but with this Rahul has achieved a special achievement in international cricket.

Rahul came to bat in place of century-maker Rishabh Pant in the second innings and India declared their innings at a score of 287/4. Bangladesh has got a huge target of 514 runs to win. Rahul scored 22 runs with the help of four fours in 19 balls and batted for just 28 minutes. With this innings, Rahul has completed 8000 runs in his international career.

Now he has 2901 runs in Test cricket, 2851 runs in ODIs and 2265 runs in T20s, taking his total international runs to 8017. Rahul has become the 17th batsman to achieve this milestone for India. This list includes the names of legendary players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Azharuddin.

However, the expectations of a big innings from the right-handed batsman are constantly increasing, as his form has not been very good in recent times. Now Rahul will hope for a better performance in the second Test starting in Kanpur from September 27.
