In the third over of Sri Lanka's second innings, pacer William O'Rourke bowled a back-of-a-length ball just on the off stump, which took Sri Lankan batter Pathum Nissanka by surprise as it had some unexpected bounce.
The batter tried to defend fifth ball of the over as it came unexpectedly towards him but unfortunately, the ball kissed the shoulder of his bat, flying straight to the slip region.
Southee, who was placed at the second slip had to fly in the air to complete the catch. The Kiwi skipper flew like a superman and grabbed the catch with just his right hand, sending the Lankan batter packing. The remarkable catch stunned the Sri Lanka dug out and also received a lot of appreciation from the spectators and the fellow teammates.
