KL Rahul is not treated properly by the team management if a former India player is to be believed. Ajay Jadeja gave example of the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai where Rishabh Pant was promoted in the batting order with Rahul facing demotion.

He was supposed to come out to bat at No. 5, but Rohit Sharma and Gautam decided to go ahead with Pant.

India had lost three quick wickets, with Bangladesh dictating the terms.

The decision-makers thought of playing the counter-attacking cricket, and Rishabh was best suited for the role.

He scored 39 runs and couldn’t convert the start into a big total. On the other hand, Rahul was dismissed after scoring 16. Former batter Ajay Jadeja didn’t like the change as he felt Rahul was equally a good cricketer.

“You can’t keep doing this to KL Rahul. He is a class player and has done well in the past. By promoting Rishabh Pant in the batting order, you are giving him importance but you are also playing with the confidence of Rahul. If you want to demote KL Rahul in the batting order, it is better if you don’t play him in Test team,” Ajay Jadeja said on JioCinema.
