There have been speculations for a while that Hardik might be in the scheme of things when it comes to the longest format of the game and especially keeping in mind India's red-ball calendar ahead, the need for the player is evidently seen. Meanwhile, the photos which gained attention saw Hardik practicing with the bat and the ball in a practice session.

Test comeback on the cards for Hardik
With new head coach Gautam Gambhir at the helm for the Indian cricket team, there could be a possibility of Hardik Pandya's return to the longest format of the game after a gap of 6 years. Hardik last played a Test match for India in the year 2018 against England in Southampton and since then, has been focusing on the white-ball format.
But with the other two Indian all-rounders, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel still going strong, it will be interesting to see whether lethal all-rounder Hardik gets a seat or not not. While Jadeja called it quits from the T20Is after the culmination of the T20 World Cup, he still remains one of the most likeable options for the Indian team.
India begin their red-ball challenge on Thursday with the first Test match against Bangladesh and have a hectic Test calendar ahead. After the culmination of the two-match Test series, India next host New Zealand and the travel to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar trophy. Hardik Pandya could be part of either of the next assignments for Team India.
