India National Cricket Team Test opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is gearing up for the two-Test series against Bangladesh, starting September 19 in Chennai. He piled up more than 700 runs against England in five red-ball matches earlier this year. However, he found it difficult to bat against Jasprit Bumrah in the nets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. He was clean-bowled by a speedster and even beaten on the outside edge multiple times, as reported by PTI.

The Southpaw would be eager to perform in the five Tests at home and as many in Australia. He has amassed over 1000 runs in his first nine Test matches.

He was seen struggling in South Africa, and now five contests in Australia will be his big Test. The likes of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood will trouble him. Meanwhile, Bangladeshi bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana will also try to disturb his concentration.

Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed exposed him in the only match he played in the Duleep Trophy 2024. Coming back to the preparations for the opening Test, Bumrah took Yashasvi’s wicket twice. Jasprit’s ability to take the ball away from the batter didn’t allow the batter to settle down.

Even net bowlers Simarjeet Singh, Gurnoor Brar, and Gurjanpreet Singh were impactful against Yashasvi.

Virat Kohli came forward toi help the batter and had a word with him. Kohli looked at his best in the practice session and hit cover drive and on-drive.

Jaiswal looked comfortable against spinners. Rishabh Pant also looked at ease dispatching deliveries from Ajit Rams and M. Siddharth.
