England became the first team in the history of women's international cricket to play 600 white-ball matches. Under Kate Cross, they achieved the feat in the second T20I against Ireland on Sunday, September 15 at Castle Avenue in Dublin.
New Zealand are second on the list with 558 matches. Australia (556) and India (502) are the only teams to have won more than 500 wins. England are placed second amongst the teams with most ODI wins, having won 236 ODIs out of 398 matches since they first played in the format back in 1973. But they are on top of the list of T20Is with victories in 146 matches. Most limited-overs matches England - 600 New Zealand - 558 Australia - 556 India - 502
England slump to defeat England, however, did not go away with happy memories from their landmark clash as Ireland beat them by five wickets. After being asked to bat first, the visiting team scored 169 for the loss of eight wickets. Tammy Beaumont top-scored for them with a knock of 40 off 34 balls, laced with seven fours. Paige Schofield, Bryony Smith and Georgia Adams made handy contributions for them with knocks of 34, 28 and 23 respectively. Orla Prendergast, Arelene Kelly and Aimee Maguire accounted for two scalps apiece. Ireland lost the early wicket of Amy Hunter, but skipper Gaby Lewis and Prendergast rebuilt with a partnership of 79 runs for the second wicket. Prendergast was the star of the show for the hosts after she scored 80 runs off 51 balls with 13 fours. Lewis, who is known for her consistency, made 38 runs off 35 balls with five fours. Leah Paul stayed not out on 27 off 27 and took Ireland past the finish line with one ball to spare. Kate Cross and Mady Villiers got two wickets apiece, but their efforts went in vain.
