Shami was felicitated in this event of Bengal Cricket on Saturday 14 September in Kolkata. Shami was felicitated for being the most successful bowler in the World Cup held last year. In the World Cup held in India itself, Shami took a record 24 wickets in just 7 matches, which was the highest in the entire tournament. First of all, it is surprising that CAB organized this felicitation ceremony almost 10 months after the World Cup, and then spoiled its name by making two big mistakes.

A big mistake was made in Shami's name itself

Bengal Cricket Association President Snehasish Ganguly honoured Shami on the stage by draping a shawl on him and also giving him a bouquet. While all this was happening, a shocking mistake was seen regarding Shami's name on the big screen on the stage. Shami's name was misspelled on the screen on the stage, making it 'Mohammad Shamit'. Now the pictures of this mistake are going viral on social media, due to which CAB is being insulted a lot.

This was not the only mistake, but the year of the World Cup was also written wrongly right below Shami's wrong name. This World Cup took place in 2023 but World Cup 2024 was running on the screen.

Shami's return will be delayed
