Team India's star fast bowler Mohammed Shami is currently away from the cricket field due to injury. Shami is currently working on getting fully fit. Along with this, he is also participating in many events and award shows. One such event was organized by the Bengal Cricket Association (CAB) in Kolkata, in which Shami was honored.
This event was in honor of Shami but during this, a mistake was made regarding his name, which was an insult to the Indian bowler on one hand and also caused a lot of embarrassment to CAB.Shami was felicitated in this event of Bengal Cricket on Saturday 14 September in Kolkata. Shami was felicitated for being the most successful bowler in the World Cup held last year. In the World Cup held in India itself, Shami took a record 24 wickets in just 7 matches, which was the highest in the entire tournament. First of all, it is surprising that CAB organized this felicitation ceremony almost 10 months after the World Cup, and then spoiled its name by making two big mistakes.
Bengal Cricket Association President Snehasish Ganguly honoured Shami on the stage by draping a shawl on him and also giving him a bouquet. While all this was happening, a shocking mistake was seen regarding Shami's name on the big screen on the stage. Shami's name was misspelled on the screen on the stage, making it 'Mohammad Shamit'. Now the pictures of this mistake are going viral on social media, due to which CAB is being insulted a lot.
This was not the only mistake, but the year of the World Cup was also written wrongly right below Shami's wrong name. This World Cup took place in 2023 but World Cup 2024 was running on the screen.CAB congratulated Mohammed Shami

Now if the name of the star who is being honored is used incorrectly, then it is nothing less than an insult. Shami neither spoke nor wrote anything openly about this, but CAB is being criticized on social media for this mistake. If we talk about Shami, then it may take a long time for the star Indian pacer to return to Team India. It was already decided that he would not play in the Test series against Bangladesh, but now there is no possibility of his return in the Test series against New Zealand in October and he seems to be returning to the team directly from the Australia tour.
