Australia batter Travis Head has revealed that India’s National Cricket Team is not his favourite rival in international cricket. Head, who has been phenomenal against the Men in Blue, is getting ready for the Border-Gavaskar 2024.
The right-handed batter, who plays as an opener in white-ball cricket and middle-order batter in Test format, would hope to continue his run-scoring spree against India. His hundreds in the WTC Final and the 2023 ODI World Cup final resulted in Australia’s victories over the Rohit Sharma-led team.
Speaking ahead of the BGT on Star Sports, Head said that it is not easy to bat against India. He never lacks motivation while playing against India because of the fierce competition.
“They are not my favourite opponents. I just play a lot against them. I have been scoring runs against them and it is always nice. It is easier to get up for the game when it is with the Indian team. I wouldn’t say they are my favourite. They challenge you in all aspects of the game. I am preparing for the series against them and hopefully I will be able to contribute with the bat this summer,” he said on Star Sports.
Travis Head is currently playing in the T20I series against England. The southpaw wants to have a strong show against India after Australia’s failure in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
