Pakistan Cricket Board is in the news these days because of its new tournament Champions One Day Cup. PCB has started this tournament by making all the big cricket stars and famous former great players of the country as mentors. PCB has spent millions of rupees for this tournament. Apart from all this, PCB is also spending billions of rupees to organize Champions Trophy next year. But on one hand, while PCB is spending a lot on men's cricket, its women cricketers are struggling even for minor allowances. A report has claimed that PCB has not given allowance to the women cricketers who came to the training camp.

Daily allowance is not being given in the training camp

These days, the women's cricket team's training camp is going on in the Pakistani city of Multan, which started on September 1. This camp is being held to prepare for the T20 series against South Africa and the T20 World Cup to be held next month. Now ESPN Cricinfo's report has revealed that during this training camp, women cricketers are not getting daily allowance. This has raised questions as to why this has happened? The PCB is citing a new policy as the reason behind this.

This strange policy became the reason

In the report, quoting a Pakistani board official, it has been said that the cricketers present in the camp are being provided three meals a day by the board and hotel accommodation has also been arranged for them. There was no such arrangement in the previous camps. The board official has said that it is clear in this changed system and policy that if three meals a day and accommodation is arranged in any camp, then the players will not be given a separate allowance. In the previous camps, women players were given a nominal allowance.

There is an atmosphere of anger and disappointment among the women cricketers of Pakistan due to this decision. Although the Pakistani board will give daily allowance to the players as usual after the series starts, but this decision has shocked the players, who were expecting a change in the situation. The Pakistani team has to play a 3-match T20 series against South Africa from next week, after which it will participate in the T20 World Cup in UAE in October.

Men's team got money

However, the same report also revealed that this policy of the Pakistani board applies to the men's cricket team as well, but it is not actually used. According to Cricinfo, the board had also made arrangements for the players to stay in the camp before the Test series against Bangladesh and they were also getting three meals a day, but they also got a daily allowance. However, the three meals were not free and there was talk of giving allowance in lieu of that, but in the camps held before that, two meals a day were free and allowance was also given.
