The main reason for removing Dodda Ganesh from the post of coach

Cricket Kenya has decided to cancel Ganesh's contract citing irregularities in the appointment process. Cricket Kenya's Director of Women's Cricket, Perlin Omami, said in a letter, “Under the resolution passed by the Executive Board of Cricket Kenya on 28 August 2024, and under Articles 5.9 and 8.4.3 of the Cricket Kenya Constitution, it is informed that the Executive Board has refused to approve your appointment as the head coach of the men's national cricket team due to non-compliance with established procedures.”

Dodda Ganesh was given a one-year contract and was announced as the new coach during a ceremony at the Sikh Union Club in Nairobi in August. Ganesh was given the goal of leading Kenya back to the World Cup.

Kenya have not managed to qualify for the ODI World Cup since 2011. The team's most impressive performance was in the 2003 World Cup, when they reached the semi-finals but lost to India. The ICC Division 2 Challenge League will mark the start of Kenya's journey back to the ODI World Cup.
