Royals take on Lucknow Super Giants in match 4 of IPL 2024 on Sunday from 3.30 pm IST at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh stadium.
They play four games in the first leg of the season with three matches at home. At the end of the season, they will have a very good opportunity to top the table if they cash in on the home advantage.
The Toyals roped in six players in IPL 2024 auction namely, Rovman Powell (Rs. 7.4 crores), Shubham Dubey (Rs. 5.80 crores), Tom Kohler-Cadmore (Rs. 40 lakhs), Abid Mushtaq (Rs. 20 lakhs), Nandre Burger (Rs. 50 lakhs).

Buttler will open the batting for Rajasthan Royals. He scored just less than 400 runs last season but the year before won the Orange Cap as he scored 863 runs and took the Royals to the final. Since IPL 2023, Jos Buttler has scored 1347 T20 runs in 38 innings with 11 fifties.
Yashasvi Jaiswal

The southpaw will open the batting along with Jos Buttler. Jaiswal is in dream form with the bat having scored over 700 runs in the Test series against England. Last year he scored 626 runs in 14 games at an average of nearly 50.
Sanju Samson (C/WK)

Samson will lead the side and bat at three. He has been a consistent run-getter in the IPL. He scored 362 runs last year and 458 runs the season before that. He has to score runs to make a comeback into the Indian T2I season.
Shimron Hetmyer

Hetmyer can bat at four. He scored 299 runs last season with a strike rate of over 150. He is currently out of the West Indies side and should make use of this IPL season to make a comeback.
Rovman Powell

Powell is a good enough batter to bat at five. He is a power-hitter and batting at five will give him a few more balls as opposed to batting at six or seven. The Royals roped him in for 7.4 crores.
Riyan Parag

Parag can bat at six. The Royals have persisted with him despite his lower returns over the years. He is a brilliant fielder and took some 17 catches in IPL 2022. Overall, he has scored 600 runs in 44 matches.
Dhruv Jurel

Jurel can bat at seven as the specialist finisher for the Royals. He made an impact as an Impact Sub last year but over the past year has shown great signs of maturity. He recently made his Test debut for India as well.
Ravichandran Ashwin

The veteran all-rounder can slot in at eight. He has played handy cameos for different teams in the past and can be very useful with the bat. The off-spinner picked up 14 wickets last season.
Trent Boult

Boult slots in as the specialist spinner at number nine. He can handle himself with the bat as well. He picked 16 wickets in IPL 2022 and just 13 last season and was a touch excessive at an 8.21 economy rate.
Yuzvendra Chahal

Chajhal slots in at 10 as the second specialist Indian spinner. He is the highest wicket-taker in IPL history with 187 wickets in 145 matches. He can become the first bowler to get to 200 wickets this season being 13 short.
Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan can be the final player in the XI for the Royals. Getting him swapped from LSG the management should pick him in the XI. He needs to have a good season to be able to claim a national comeback.
Impact Sub- Sandeep Sharma

Sandeep Sharma can be used as the Impact Sub. He won a game for RR with the ball against CSK last year against MS Dhoni. He has 124 IPL wickets.
