Team India is going to return to the field after a long break. It has to play a two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home from September 19. This series is going to be very important in view of the World Test Championship. The Indian team was successful in reaching the final of the World Test Championship on both the previous occasions, although it had to face defeat in the final. This time, an update has been given by the ICC on how much chance Team India has to reach the final.

Will Team India play the WTC final once again?

Team India is currently at the top of the points table of the World Test Championship 2023-25. India has won 6 out of 9 matches and lost only 2 matches. At the same time, one match was drawn. In such a situation, it is at the top with 68.52 percent points. Now Team India has 10 Test matches left. Out of these, 5 Tests will be in India and 5 matches will be of India. If Team India wins all these matches, then it can reach a maximum of 85.09 percent points. However, this is difficult.

Out of these 10 matches, Team India has to play 2 Tests against Bangladesh and 3 Tests against New Zealand at home. After this, it will go to Australia for 5 Test matches. If Team India wins all the five Test matches to be played in India, then it can reach 79.76 percent marks, which will be enough to reach the final. In such a situation, Team India is the biggest contender to reach the final at this time.

How are the other teams?

Australia won the World Test Championship title last time. But this time it will have to work hard to reach the final. Australia currently has 7 matches left. Out of which it will play 5 Tests against India and 2 Tests against Sri Lanka at their home. Even if Australia wins all these matches, it will be able to reach a maximum of 76.32 percent marks. On the other hand, New Zealand currently has to play 8 Test matches. In such a situation, they still have a chance to reach 78.57 percent marks, which can take them ahead of Australia.

This time the Bangladesh team can reach a maximum of 72.92 percent marks. If we talk about Sri Lanka, it will be able to reach 69.23 percent marks, England 57.95, South Africa 69.44, Pakistan 59.52 and West Indies 43.59 percent marks. In such a situation, it seems very difficult for these teams to reach the finals.
