England's women's cricket team is currently on a tour of Ireland. The second match of the 3-match ODI series was played between the two teams on Monday, September 9. England's captain Kate Cross won the toss and decided to bat first. Her team scored a huge score of 320 runs. Chasing this, Ireland's team collapsed for just 45 runs in 16.5 overs. England won this match by 150 runs and made a 'great record' in its name. This is England's biggest victory in terms of runs in the history of women's ODI cricket.

Ireland made a shameful record

While England registered the biggest win in ODI, Ireland's women's cricket team made a shameful record. Ireland being all out for 45 runs is the lowest score ever in ODI cricket. England's bowlers started giving shocks from the very first over, which stopped after being all out in the 17th over. Captain Kate Cross started the bowling and bowled Ireland's opener and captain Gaby Lewis on the third ball itself. On the last ball of the over, Amy Hunter was also sent to the pavilion on a personal score of 2 runs.

England's bowlers wreaked havoc

The havoc that Kate Cross created in the first over was continued by the rest of England's bowlers as well. Due to this, the entire Ireland team was terrified and fell apart. Cross came to bowl again in the third over. This time Orla Prendergast became her victim. In this match, Cross took 3 wickets for just 8 runs in 4 overs.

Ireland's team was completely on the backfoot after losing 3 wickets for 7 runs in 3 overs. Despite this, the hunt continued. From the other end, England's fast bowler Lauren Filer dismissed Leah Paul, Rebecca Stokell and Arlene Kelly. Lauren took 3 wickets for just 10 runs in 6 overs. Now Ireland had lost 6 wickets for a score of 24 runs. After this, Freya Camp and Georgia Davis completed the remaining task. Both took 2-2 wickets and bundled out Ireland for 45 runs.

Tammy Beaumont hits 150 runs

England's bowlers may have forced Ireland to kneel down. But the team's opener Tammy Beaumont did the job of bringing them to a strong position. During the first innings, Beaumont thrashed the host country's bowlers. She scored 150 runs in just 139 balls. It was because of her innings that England's team was able to give a mountain-like target of 321 runs.
