Australia's opening batsman Travis Head created a world record by playing a stormy innings in the first T20 International played against Scotland at Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh on Wednesday (September 4). Head scored 80 runs in 25 balls at a strike rate of 320, hitting 12 fours and 5 sixes. He was selected Player of the Match for this innings. He scored 78 runs in his innings only through boundaries.

Head scored 73 runs during the powerplay in this match, which is the most runs scored by any player in the powerplay in T20 International. Earlier this record was in the name of Ireland's Paul Stirling, who scored 67 runs during the powerplay in the match against West Indies in 2020.
