Pakistan slipped to eighth place in Test rankings after defeat by Bangladesh

Pakistan lost the first Test match by 10 wickets and the second match by six wickets. Both these matches were played in Rawalpindi.

Latest Cricket News, PAK vs BAN: After losing its first-ever Test series to Bangladesh, Pakistan has slipped to eighth place in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings, its rating reaching its lowest level since 1965.

Pakistan lost the first Test match by 10 wickets and the second match by six wickets. Both these matches were played in Rawalpindi.

“Pakistan have dropped two places to eighth in the ICC Men's Test Team Rankings after suffering a crushing series defeat at home to Bangladesh,” the ICC said on its website.

According to the website, ''Pakistan's team was in sixth place before the series but due to continuous defeats, it has slipped below West Indies to eighth place. It has 76 rating points. Pakistan has reached such low rating points for the first time since 1965.''

Bangladesh remains in ninth place behind Pakistan despite gaining 13 rating points. However, after winning the series 2-0, it has benefited in the World Test Championship table and has reached fourth place after India, Australia and New Zealand. Bangladesh will now tour India for a two-Test match series, the first Test match of which will be played in Chennai from September 19. (pti)
