After defeating Pakistan in the first Test, Bangladesh team has troubled them in the second match being played in Rawalpindi. After winning the toss, Bangladesh captain decided to field first. While bowling first, the team bowled out Pakistan for 274 runs. When Bangladesh came out to bat, their condition worsened. Pakistan's fast bowlers forced them to kneel down by taking 6 wickets for 26 runs. It seemed that the whole team would not be able to score even 50 runs. Then the pair of Liton Das and Mehdi Hasan Miraz took charge of the team and gave Pakistan a tough time. Both the batsmen made a partnership of 165 runs for the 7th wicket. Along with this, they also made world records.

The magic of Litton and Mirage

What Liton Das and Mehdi Hasan Miraz have done together is nothing less than a miracle. After losing 6 wickets at a score of 26, Liton scored 82 runs. Whereas Miraz got out after playing an innings of 78 runs. In this way, both of them not only saved Bangladesh's honor with a partnership of 165 runs but also made a good comeback. Both of them made three records with this huge partnership. First of all, Liton and Miraz made the world record of the biggest partnership for the 7th wicket after losing 6 wickets within 30 runs.

Earlier this record was in the name of the pair of West Indies' Nkrumah Bonner and Joshua Da Silva. In 2021, his team lost 6 wickets for 18 runs against Sri Lanka. After this, both of them together had a partnership of 100 runs. After Bonner and Da Silva, this is only the second time in Test cricket, when there was a partnership of more than 100 runs for the 7th wicket after 6 wickets fell within 30 runs. Apart from this, the pair of Liton and Miraj also made a record of making a partnership of more than 150 runs after the team lost 6 wickets within 50 runs. Both had played half-century innings in the first match as well.

The Magic of Mirage

Mehdi Hasan Miraz bowled brilliantly during Pakistan's first innings. He bowled 22.1 overs, taking 5 wickets for 61 runs. It was because of his brilliant bowling that Bangladesh managed to stop Pakistan below 300. Now he has done wonders in batting with Liton. However, Bangladesh is still far behind Pakistan. By the tea break on the third day, Bangladesh has scored 193 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. The team is still 81 runs behind.
