After losing the first match of the Test series against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, the Pakistani team seems to be in a better position in the second match. In the second Test, once again the batsmen of the team disappointed but unlike the first match, this time its fast bowlers performed brilliantly, due to which they took 6 wickets of Bangladesh for just 26 runs. The biggest culprit for this condition of Bangladesh was fast bowler Khurram Shahzad, who took 5 wickets in this innings. With this, after 3 years, the Pakistani team and fans also got the joy of achieving this feat on their own land.
In the match that started on the second day at Pindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan's first innings collapsed at just 274 runs. On the third day, Bangladesh resumed its innings with a score of 10 runs, which collapsed within the next one hour. The pace bowling pair of Khurram Shahzad and Mir Hamza created a stir by sending 6 Bangladeshi batsmen back to the pavilion for just 26 runs. Out of this, 4 wickets were taken by right-arm fast bowler Khurram, which also included legendary batsmen like Shakib Al Hasan.

After this, the pair of Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took charge of the Bangladeshi innings and made a great partnership of 165 runs to bring the team back. During this, both of them also targeted Khurram and hit many fours and sixes on him. Despite this, Khurram kept his courage and finally he broke this partnership. Khurram caught out Miraz on his own ball and with this he also achieved the feat of taking 5 wickets in an innings for the first time in Test cricket. He did not stop here and he also took the sixth wicket by dismissing Taskin Ahmed.
With this, the 24-year-old pacer did what even more famous bowlers like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah could not do. It will be surprising to know that in the last three years, no Pakistani pacer had taken 5 wickets in an innings of a home Test match. In these 3 years, Khurram became the first Pakistani fast bowler to do so. Before him, in February 2021, Hasan Ali had taken 5 wickets in both innings against South Africa in Rawalpindi itself. Incidentally, Pakistan's last Test win at home also came in the same match. Since then, in the next 9 Tests, the team lost 5, while 4 were draws.
