Pakistan all-rounder Salman Agha has come out in support of Babar Azam, who hasn’t done anything impressive with the bat. Babar failed to accumulate half-century in the first innings of the second and final Test against Bangladesh on August 31.

Babar scored 31 runs before Shakib Al Hasan got his wicket. Azam hasn’t touched the fifty-run mark in 15 consecutive innings in Test for the national team. Agha said that fans shouldn’t forget what Babar Azam did with the bat over the last five years.

“Babar Azam is a world-class batter. Every cricketer goes through bad phases. He was consistent in the last five years. You will see him scoring big runs in the near future,” he said.

For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz took 5 wickets to restrict the hosts to 274.

Despite their impressive bowling, Bangladesh dropped four catches, which allowed Pakistan to add important runs to the total.

Bangladesh were 10 for no loss in the two overs. Taskin Ahmed spoke about his comeback. “It is great to return to red-ball cricket. I enjoyed it despite struggling a bit.”

Bangladesh are leading 1-0 after their 10-wicket win in the first Test in Rawalpindi.

The opening day of the second Test was washed out due to persistent rain. Shan Masood (57) and Saim Ayub (58) added 107 runs partnership before they were dismissed by Mehidy.

Salman said Pakistan have enough runs on the board. “The wicket will help fast bowlers and I think we have enough runs on the board. I will have to play a key role with Abrar as there is some help for spinners too.”
