Needing 16 runs off the final over, Guyana’s Dwaine Pretorius smashed Pakistan star Mohammad Amir for 18 runs, winning his team their opening match of the tournament.
After Falcons’ Shamar Joseph bowled went for 13 runs in the penultimate over, the veteran Pakistan seamer Mohammad Amir was given the onus of bowling the final over and despite starting with a dot ball, he was hit for two consecutive fours by the South African allrounder Dwaine Pretorius, leaving the Warriors needing 8 runs off the last three balls.
Mohammad Amir Gets Slammed For Last-Ball Six In Final Over Of Match
Amir managed to bring the team back into the contest with a dot ball on the fourth delivery, but his fortunes turned again when he conceded a boundary on the fifth ball.
The Warriors needed four runs off the last delivery, and Pretorius sealed the victory with style by hitting a six to finish the over.
Amir aimed to bowl outside the off-stump, hoping to move the ball away from Pretorius's reach. Despite this, the delivery was full enough for the all-rounder to position his bat well inside the ball and he made perfect contact, sending the ball soaring over the long-off fence.
