Delhi: Star batsman Devdutt Padikkal is dreaming of making a comeback in the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh and has made the Duleep Trophy his target for this. Let us tell you that due to the return of KL Rahul, Padikkal is facing a tough challenge to make a place in India's playing XI, but a good performance in domestic cricket will prove to be a miracle for him.

Earlier this year, Devdutt made his debut in the Test series against England. He scored a half-century in his first Test and now he would like to continue his form going forward.

Padikkal told PTI, “Yes, definitely it (Duleep Trophy) is a very important tournament. You don't get too many opportunities at the highest level. So, it is important that I continue to score runs and the Duleep Trophy gives me the opportunity for that. I had a really good red-ball season last year, which gave me a chance to play for India. Obviously, it was very special to make my debut. So, I have to continue that form because there is a lot of competition all around.”

Padikal is focusing on improving his game

Padikkal, who is struggling to find a place in the Indian cricket team, has admitted that his focus is on performing well in domestic cricket. Padikkal wants to improve his game and believes that Test cricket remains a challenge for the players.

I have a lot to learn. So, I am continuing to work on the things I need to improve.”
