Under this, it has appointed Jacob Oram as its new bowling coach, who will take charge from October 7. That is, this will be the time when the New Zealand team will be coming to India to play the Test series. Jacob Oram will replace Shane Jurgensen as New Zealand's bowling coach. Oram has also played IPL with Dhoni and Rohit. In such a situation, he has a good experience of Indian pitches, which is a plus point as a bowling coach.

New Zealand tour of India

New Zealand's tour of India will begin exactly a week after Jacob Oram takes over the captaincy of the team. The first Test between the two teams will be played in Bengaluru from October 16. The second Test match will be played in Pune from October 24. Whereas, the third and last Test of the series will be played between India and New Zealand at Mumbai's Wankhede ground from November 1.

Although as a bowling coach, Jacob Oram has helped in the Test series played on the Bangladesh tour last year, the home T20 series against Australia in February this year and the T20 World Cup 2024, but now he has been completely entrusted with this responsibility in the New Zealand team.

All-rounder Jacob Oram, who played 229 international matches for New Zealand, started his coaching career in 2014. He first became the bowling coach of the New Zealand A team. Then he was the bowling coach of the women's cricket team there from 2018 to 2021. Apart from this, he also has coaching experience in many T20 leagues.

Dhoni and Rohit became 'partners' in IPL

Having played IPL and international cricket in India, Jacob Oram has a good understanding of Indian pitches. In such a situation, the New Zealand team can get a lot of help from his experience. In IPL, he has played cricket for MS Dhoni's CSK and Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians. Combining these two teams, he played a total of 18 IPL matches, in which he scored 106 runs and took 9 wickets.
