West Indies vs South Africa 3rd T20I” West Indies defeated South Africa by 8 wickets according to Duckworth Lewis rules in the third and final T20 International played at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad on Wednesday (28 August). With this, the host team clean swept South Africa 3-0.

After losing the toss, South Africa was invited to bat first. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 13 overs and South Africa scored 108 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Tristan Stubbs played a stormy innings of 40 runs in 15 balls, apart from this, Ryle Rickelton scored 27 runs and Aiden Markram scored 20 runs.

For West Indies, Romario Shepherd took 2 wickets, Matthew Forde and Akeel Hussain took 1 wicket each.

According to Duckworth Lewis rule, West Indies got a target of 116 runs to win. Which the host team achieved by losing only 2 wickets in 9.2 overs. Shai Hope scored unbeaten 42 runs in 24 balls, Nicholas Pooran scored 35 runs in 13 balls and Shimron Hetmyer scored unbeaten 31 runs in 17 balls to give the team an easy victory.

Bjorn Fortuin and Otonil Bartman took 1 wicket each for South Africa.

For his outstanding performance in the series, Shai Hope was named Player of the Series, while Shepherd was named Player of the Match for the second consecutive match.
