Before the first Test match against Bangladesh started in Rawalpindi, the Pakistan cricket team, its management and its fans would not have even thought that this Test would last for 5 days. No one would have even dreamt that Bangladesh would crush them on the 5th day, but this is what happened on Sunday 25th August at Pindi Stadium. The Test match lasted for 5 days and in the second session on the fifth day, Bangladesh crushed Pakistan by 10 wickets, achieving the target of just 30 runs without any loss. This result was shocking for everyone but perhaps Bangladesh had confidence in itself, so it had given a warning before the match, which Pakistan probably ignored.

Batting first in this match, Pakistan declared the innings at 448 runs. Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel scored brilliant centuries for them. However, declaring the innings at just 448 runs was surprising for everyone, just like Pakistan had decided to field only 4 main fast bowlers while keeping one spinner in the team. Bangladesh took advantage of both these decisions and took a lead of 117 runs by scoring 565 runs in the first innings on the basis of Mushfiqur Rahim's excellent 191 runs. Then on the fifth day, Pakistan had to struggle a lot to recover this lead and the entire team collapsed for just 146 runs.

had already been warned

Now whatever happened on the cricket field and the performance of both the teams there, they got the result according to that. Obviously the entire Bangladesh team played very well but apart from that, the confidence of the entire team, especially captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto was very important, which was visible even before the match. A day before the match, in the press conference, Shanto was asked about Bangladesh's Test record against Pakistan. There were 13 Tests between the two teams, in which Pakistan won 11 matches and hence the intention behind that question was also to discourage Shanto but he replied straight that records can always change.

Pakistan embarrassed in its attempt to intimidate

Shanto's reply was not a joke but a reflection of his and his team's confidence, which contained a warning for Pakistan to not take Bangladesh lightly. Perhaps Pakistan did not understand this warning and ignored it and started playing the match. That is why the Pakistani team came out with 4 fast bowlers and their intention was to scare the Bangladeshi batsmen with a fast bowling attack but it proved to be a failure and thus Pakistan had to face defeat at the hands of Bangladesh.
