Pakistan's wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan scored a half-century in the second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Rizwan scored 51 runs in 80 balls, hitting six fours and was Pakistan's top scorer. Earlier, he had scored an unbeaten 171 runs in 239 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes in the first innings.

Rizwan is the second wicketkeeper batsman in Pakistan's 72-year Test history to score a century in the first innings and a half-century in the second innings. Before Rizwan, only Sarfaraz Ahmed had achieved this feat. Sarfaraz scored 103 and 55 runs in Tests against Bangladesh in 2014 and 118 and 78 runs against New Zealand in 2023.

It is worth noting that in this match, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. This is the first time that Pakistan has lost to Bangladesh in this format.

After being invited to bat first, Pakistan declared their first innings at 448 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. In reply, Bangladesh scored 565 runs and gained a huge lead of 117 runs in the first innings. But in the second innings, Pakistan's team was all out at 146 runs and Bangladesh achieved the target of 30 runs without losing any wicket.

The second and last Test match of the series will be played in Rawalpindi from August 30.
