Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in the Rawalpindi Test. With this they created a new history. This is their first victory against Pakistan in a Test match. With this they have also taken a 1-0 lead in the 2 match Test series. With this defeat, Pakistan's entire arrogance has vanished. Before the match, Pakistan's captain Shan Masood and coach Jason Gillespie had taken a big decision. A green pitch was made for Bangladesh and 4 fast bowlers were played. The Pakistani team management created such an atmosphere in front of the fans that Bangladesh would be forced to kneel down. But this overconfidence of Pakistan proved costly for them.

I couldn't understand my pitch

Pakistan had prepared a green pitch against Bangladesh and fielded 4 fast bowlers. The biggest thing was that not even a single spinner was included in the team. There was a ruckus over this decision but the coach and captain remained firm on their decision. They thought that the pitch would help a lot and they would defeat Bangladesh badly on the strength of the fast bowlers. This move of theirs failed miserably. In the first innings, contrary to expectations, the pitch proved to be helpful for the batsmen. The pitch helped for the first few overs, but after that the batsmen scored a lot of runs. The result was that in reply to Pakistan's 448 runs, Bangladesh scored 565 runs.

After 20 years, Bangladesh broke the record that Team India had made against Pakistan in the Multan Test in 2004. In this innings of Bangladesh, all four fast bowlers of Pakistan together bowled a total of 705 balls, which is the highest by Pakistani pacers in an innings of a home Test match after 2002. Earlier in the Multan Test, Pakistan's fast bowlers had bowled 672 balls against India because then Virender Sehwag had played an astonishing innings of 309 runs.

Pakistan caught in a spin

Assistant coach of Pakistan team Azhar Mahmood also admitted that he had made a mistake and the pitch played opposite to what the team had thought. Apart from this, the decision to keep main spinner Abrar Ahmed out also caused a lot of damage. Because while fast bowlers were seen struggling on this pitch, as the day passed, it became helpful for spinners. In the third innings of the match, Bangladeshi spinners troubled Pakistan a lot. Pakistani batsmen fell in front of Bangladesh spinners and the team was all out for just 160 runs. In the entire match, 16 wickets of Pakistan fell, in which 9 wickets were taken by spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehdi Hasan Miraz.
