West Indies' explosive batsman Nicholas Pooran rocked the first T20 International against South Africa at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad on Saturday (24 August) with his stormy innings. Chasing the target, Pooran scored an unbeaten 65 runs in 26 balls for West Indies, in which he hit two fours and seven sixes. In his innings, he scored 50 runs in 9 balls only through boundaries.

Pooran made a special record during his half-century innings. He has reached the third position in the list of players who have hit the most sixes in T20 International. He has hit 139 sixes in 88 innings of 96 matches.

Puran left behind Jos Buttler (137 sixes), Suryakumar Yadav (136 sixes) and Glenn Maxwell (136 sixes) in this list. Now only Rohit Sharma (205 sixes) and Martin Guptill (173 sixes) are ahead of him.

Apart from this, he has come second in the list of players who have hit the most sixes in T20 format in a year. Puran has hit 124 sixes in T20 so far in 2024.

It is worth noting that in this match, West Indies won by 7 wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. After being invited to bat first, South Africa scored 174 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
