Pakistan : The first match of the Test series was played between Pakistan and Bangladesh (PAK VS BAN) at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 21 August. In this match, Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Bangladesh's opening batsmen looked helpless against Pakistan's fast bowlers and when the umpire signaled the end of the second day's play, by that time Bangladesh's score was 27 runs without losing any wicket. After which Pakistan's team seemed to be far ahead in the match till the end of the second day's play.
