Mitchell Starc is confident of Australia’s win over India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He is looking forward to the five-Test series at the end of the year. Australia has struggled against India in the most extended format, with the latter winning four consecutive Test series, including two in Australia in 2018+19 and 2020-21.

“It is on par with Ashes. We want to win every match at home and we know India are a strong team. India and Australia are number one and two in WTC standings at the moment. It is going to be a very exciting series for the fans and the players. Hopefully, we are going to lift the trophy on January 8,” he said to the Wide World of Sports.

The series will start in Perth on November 22 and finish on January 7, 2025.

Starc will always prefer Test cricket over the other two formats. “Test cricket will always get my preference. We have five Tests against India and then two in Sri Lanka, and I want to be a part of all these games. The schedule is tight for Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, and I also play all three formats.”

In 89 Tests, the left-arm pacer has taken 358 wickets at an average of 27.74, including 14 five-wicket hauls.
