Samoa's wicketkeeper-batter Darius Visser made history after he shattered the record for most runs scored in a single over in men's T20I matches.
The record was broken when Samoa took on Vanuatu in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub-Regional East Asia-Pacific Qualifier A event. In the 15th over of the clash, Visser put in an exceptional showing and scored 39 runs in a single over. The batter hit six sixes in the over and was helped by three no-balls from Vanuatu pacer Nalin Nipiko. Visser hit three consecutive sixes on the first four deliveries of the over, and after the fifth delivery was a dot ball, Visser continued his momentum with another maximum on the final ball of the over, which was also the third no-ball. He finished the over with another maximum and became the first player from Samoa to score a century in international cricket. Throughout his innings, Visser hit a total of 14 sixes, just four short of the most sixes hit by a batter in a men's T20I match. In the 62 deliveries that he faced, Visser went on to score 132 runs to his name.   Samoa register emphatic victory against Vanuatu Speaking of the game, the clash between Samoa and Vanuatu began with Samoa coming in to bat first.
