Virat Kohli is the best batter in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star is also the leading run-scorer in the tournament.
He has been playing for the franchise since 2008 and even led them for years.
Speaking to Star Sports, Virat named his favorite rival franchise from the IPL.
According to him, he loves playing against the Kolkata Knight Riders the most. Virat played in the first IPL game between RCB and KKR on April 18, 2008. The Knight Riders posted 222 runs and dismissed RCB for 82. Virat managed just 1 run off 5 balls.
Kohli has been a part of 34 matches against KKR and scored 962 runs. He has hit one hundred and six fifties against the Kolkata-based franchise.
The right-handed batter has amassed 8004 runs in 252 IPL matches, including 8 centuries and 55 half-centuries. RCB have never won an IPL title despite playing three finals. Virat is expected to continue his association with RCB in IPL 2025.
Virat will next be seen in action against Bangladesh in the two-match Test series in India. Kohli played a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka but didn’t perform with the bat as the visitors lost 0-2. He retired from T20Is after the ICC World Cup in the United States of America and the West Indies.
