All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga could be available for the initial few games for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL after the ICC suspended him from the upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh, despite coming out of retirement on Tuesday.

Hasaranga, who had retired from Tests last August, was named in Sri Lanka's 17-man squad for the series starting on Friday. The Sunrisers, who acquired Hasaranga for Rs 1.5 crore, play their season opener at Eden Gardens against KKR on Saturday. The ICC, however, said that the 26-year-old has "breached the threshold of eight demerit points, which, pursuant to article 7.6 of the Code, have been converted into four suspension points" in his latest offence during the third ODI against Bangladesh. "Hasaranga was found guilty of breaching article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to 'showing dissent at an Umpire's decision during an International Match'," the ICC said. According to the first set of the IPL schedule, SRH travel to Hyderabad to take on Mumbai Indians on March 27 and then to Ahmedabad to play Gujarat Titans on March 31. Behrendorff's regret Australia and Mumbai Indians fast bowler Jason Behrendorff on Tuesday said he was gutted to miss this year's IPL after fracturing his leg in a "freak training incident". England's Luke Wood has replaced him in the squad. "Unfortunately, there was a freak accident at training last week which resulted in my leg being broken. It wasn't anyone's fault, just a very unlucky incident," Behrendorff, who took 14 wickets in 12 matches last season, wrote on social media.
