The Indian men’s cricket team selection committee is considering to go ahead with the left-arm fast bowler for India’s Test series against Bangladesh. The two-match Test series will be played in September.

Jasprit Bumrah is likely to be rested to manage his workload ahead of Test matches against New Zealand and Australia.

Mohammed Shami is still recovering from his ankle surgery and will not be taking part in Duleep Trophy. With Mohammed Siraj being the only experience option, the decision makers are looking for match-winning seamers.

According to a report by PTI, the selectors want to try left-arm pacers in the Bangladesh series. Team India tried Jaydev Unadkat, but he was not successful. The availability of several left-arm options will help the selectors.

Arshdeep Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Yash Dayal are in contention to play their first Test match.

Arshdeep Singh plays white-ball formats for the Men in Blue. Khaleel Ahmed and Yash Dayal were impresive in the Indian Premier League 2024.
