Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne has retired the bat he used in the 2023 ODI World Cup final. The 30-year-old was in good form against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium, scoring 58 runs off 110 balls.

He shared a 192-run partnership with Travis Head, leading the Aussies to win. The Pat Cummins-led team won the title-deciding match by 6 wickets to clinch their sixth ODI World Cup. He posted a picture of the bat, showing it in a worn state, and decided to retire it. “Think it’s finally time to retire the World Cup final bat,” he posted the picture of his bat on Instagram.

In the final, Marnus showed his class in a challenging situation. The 30-year-old batted well against the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.

He helped Travis Head, who scored 137 runs off 120 balls, laced with 15 fours and four sixes. Australia completed the chase of 241 runs in 43 overs.

Labuschagne managed 362 runs in 10 innings at an average of 40.22 and a strike rate of 70.70, including three fifties.
