Trent Rockets’ star player Rashid Khan will miss the remaining matches for the franchise in The Hundred 2024 after injuring his hamstring. The all-rounder suffered a setback while fielding in the final over during his team’s recent game with the Southern Brave on August 10.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Chris Green has been recalled to the squad to replace Rashid.

With two contests remaining, the Trent Rockets still have a chance to make the knockouts. The winners of The Hundred in 2022 are fifth in the points table with six points. They will face Birmingham Phoenix, who are placed fourth. Imad Wasim is another Trent Rockets player who is battling an injury, but he hasn’t been ruled out.

Rashid has taken nine wickets in five matches and scored 44 runs. He underwent surgery after the 2023 ODI World Cup and returned to cricket during the Indian Premier League 2024. He even led Afghanistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Kieron Pollard recently hit Rashid for five consecutive sixes, leading Southern Brave to a win. Rashid is hoping to get fit for the one-off Test against New Zealand, which is scheduled to be played in Noida in September.
