India wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson finally broke the silence on not getting consistent opportunities in the India team despite having a decent record. He said that he doesn't think about it as he tries to stay positive and focus on what's in his control.

India keeper-batter Samson has been one of the exciting talents going into Indian cricket. He has been scoring runs consistently in the domestic circuit as well as the IPL. The keeper-batter also has performed reasonably well in the limited opportunities that he has got in the Indian team.

Sanju Samson despite that hasn't been getting consistent opportunities in the Indian team. Things have always been unfair for him as even after performing he has always failed to be the first-choice keeper-batter for the team with Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul being preferred over him.

Sanju Samson hasn't been getting the opportunities in the main team. Whenever there has been an ICC tournament for ODIs, he gets a chance in T20Is. And when the T20 World Cups are around, he gets selected in the ODIs, which in itself speaks about how he has been treated by the management.

Samson also wasn't selected for the Indian team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. The keeper-batter in the last ODI that he played slammed a century as he smashed a stunning ton against South Africa in their backyard and played an innings of 108 runs off 114 balls at Paarl. Despite that, he didn't make the cut in the team and it saw BCCI getting criticised a lot.

During an interaction on Zee TV, a journalist asked Sanju Samson, "You scored a century in South Africa but were dropped from the ODI squad. In an ODI World Cup year, you're playing T20Is, and in a T20 World Cup year, you're playing ODIs. There's a lot of buzz on social media about this. What are your thoughts on the selection?"

Replying to this, Sanju Samson stated that the team is doing well and there's no issue and he goes whenever the team asks him. He stated that he's focused on his practice which is helping him improve. He explained:

"When they call me to play, I go and play. If not, it's okay. I don't overthink it. The team is doing well, so there's no issue. I prefer to stay positive and focus on what I can control. I put maximum effort into my practice and hard work, which is improving my game."

I want my career to move forward, so I concentrate on improving my game - Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson further stated that he wants his career to move forward and is currently focusing on improving things. He stated:

"I want my career to move forward, so I concentrate on improving my game and focusing on what's within my control."

Replying to this, the journalist stated: "The coach has praised you a lot so hope that's good." Sanju in response replied ok and smiled.
