Knight Riders have heavily modified their squad for the IPL 2024 season and will be hoping for a better outing this term.

After a couple of seasons with the playoffs, the Knight Riders know a superior performance this season is imperative. The return of captain Shreyas Iyer for this season is a definite boost, but the coup of Gautam Gambhir as mentor is a huge one. The former KKR captain was involved in the auction decisions, which led to the biggest signing in IPL history as they bought Mitchell Starc for a whopping Rs 24.75 crore. Although Starc was a monumental signing, there were other key signings for the Knight Riders this season. Also, KKR had to add two more players as replacements. Gus Atkinson, who was originally bought in the auction, was replaced by Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera. Another significant arrival has been of Phil Salt, who replaced Jason Roy after the latter withdrew from IPL.

KKR IPL 2024 Auction Buys

KS Bharat (Rs 50 lakh), Chetan Sakariya (Rs 50 lakh), Mitchell Starc (Rs 24.75 crore), Angkrish Raghuvanshi (Rs 20 lakh), Ramandeep Singh (Rs 20 lakh), Sherfane Rutherford (Rs 1.5 crore), Manish Pandey (Rs 50 lakh), Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Rs 2 crore), Gus Atkinson (Rs 50 lakh) replaced by Dushmantha Chameera (Rs 50 lakh), Sakib Hussain (Rs 20 lakh), Phil Salt (Rs 1.5 crore) as replacement of Jason Roy IPL 2024: Who can be Kolkata Knight Riders' Best Three Auction Buys

Phil Salt

Philip Salt is a last-minute replacement at KKR as he was roped in for Jason Roy. But he can prove to be an excellent signing for KKR. Salt has a career strike rate of 166 in T20Is, and an overall 153 in all T20s - which depicts his reputation as a hard-hitter. The 27-year-old remained unsold in the auction, but he can be an asset for KKR, who got him at his Rs 1.5 crore base price.

Manish Pandey

Manish Pandey has a rich history with KKR. The Indian batter was the star of the show in their IPL 2014 Final, the last time KKR won the title. He is back in the team and that can be a decent move. Pandey has a host of experience in IPL and can be the pillar for the Knights in the middle order. The Karnataka player still packs a powerful punch and is likely to play a key part in their season.

Ramandeep Singh

Ramandeep Singh's acquisition is another big coup for KKR. The Punjab all-rounder is a terrific striker of the ball and has the ability to change the dynamic of the match in instance. He is one of the few players who has hit more Sixes in his T20 career than Fours, and can be KKR's Indian version of Andre Russell this season. The 26-year-old boasts a decent reputation and can prove to be Kolkata's weapon as an Impact Player. Sauradeep Ash Mykhel source: mykhel.com
