One hope of a medal for India in Paris Olympics 2024 ended with the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat. Now all eyes are on veteran weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, who will challenge for India in the women's 49 kg weight category in weightlifting tonight. Last Olympics silver medalist Mirabai Chanu is India's only contender in this event. The match will start at 11 pm at the South Paris Arena, in which a total of 12 players including Mirabai are participating. Indian fans will hope that Mirabai returns with a medal for the second consecutive time.

Won medal in Tokyo Olympics

29-year-old Mirabai Chanu is participating in her third Olympics. Earlier, she made her debut in the 2016 Rio Olympics, where she did not succeed. Then in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Mira wreaked havoc and created history by winning the silver medal. She won India's first medal in the Tokyo Olympics. Also, she became only the second female athlete from India to win a silver medal in the Olympics.
