Paris Olympics 2024 News In Hindi: The Indian hockey team entered the semi-finals of the men's hockey event at the Paris 2024 Olympics as they defeated Great Britain in a penalty shootout after the match ended 1-1.

The Indian men's hockey team failed to convert any of the two penalty corners it got in the first quarter, though it maintained control of the ball. The first quarter ended at 0-0. India suffered a setback in the second quarter when Amit Rohidas was given a red card in the 17th minute for deliberately hitting an opposition player on the head with his hockey stick. However, this did not dampen India's hunger for victory and in the 22nd minute Harmanpreet Singh converted a penalty corner and India soon went 1-0 up.

The score was 1-1 till full-time and the match went into penalty shootout. Captain Harmanpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Lalit Upadhyay and Rajkumar Pal scored goals for the Indian team. After conceding the first two goals, PR Sreejesh saved the opposition team's third and fourth shots.

India managed just 1 shot from 8 chances on goal while Great Britain managed 1 shot from 21 shots. India managed to convert 1 penalty corner from 4 chances while the opposition team could not convert any. Great Britain had 54% possession while the opposition team had 46% possession. India penetrated the circle on 8 occasions while Great Britain penetrated it on 24 occasions.
