The Indian men's hockey team defeated Australia 3-2 in a Men's Hockey Pool B match at the Paris 2024 Olympics. This is India's first win in this match at the Olympics since Munich 1972.

India scored two goals in two minutes – Abhishek (12') and Harmanpreet Singh (13') – in the first quarter at the Yves-du-Manoir Stadium. However, Thomas Craig (25') brought the Kookaburras back into the match by converting a penalty corner in the second quarter.

Harmanpreet (32') doubled her tally in the match in the third quarter. Blake Govers' late penalty (55') ensured a thrilling finish to the match. But India held on and grabbed the three points.

The Tokyo 2020 bronze medallists enjoyed more possession (54%), but Australia attacked the circle 37 times, 17 more than India.

With this win, India leapfrogged Australia to second place in Pool B with three wins, two draws and one loss. The Kookaburras finished third with three wins and two losses.
