Pakistan To Host New Zealand For Five T20Is In April Ahead Of T20 World Cup 2024

Pakistan will host New Zealand for a five-match T20I series in April ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday.

New Zealand will arrive in Islamabad on April 14 to commence their third tour of Pakistan in the span of 17 months. The first T20I between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played at Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on April 18. The first three T20Is of the series will be hosted in Rawalpindi while the last two matches will be played in Lahore. The final T20I will take place on April 27. New Zealand last travelled to Pakistan from December 2022 to January, 2023 to play two Tests and three T20Is. Last year, Blackcaps made a return visit to Pakistan to play 10 white-ball matches. Recently, Pakistan lost the five-match T20I series 4-1 in New Zealand to culminate their miserable tour. Earlier, Pakistan suffered a 3-0 clean sweep against Australia in Down Under. PCB Director - International Cricket, Usman Wahla said, "In a testament to the unwavering camaraderie between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and New Zealand Cricket (NZC), we are delighted to present the schedule for New Zealand men's team tour to Pakistan 2024. "This tour symbolises the deep-rooted ties and mutual respect that define the relationship between our two cricketing nations. Our avid cricket fans and the people of Pakistan will welcome the New Zealand team again and we hope to have yet another competitive series which is a key part of our buildup to this year's ICC T20 World Cup," he added. Pakistan will start their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against the USA on June 6 in Dallas before taking on the arch-rivals India in a high-octane clash on June 9 in New York.
