Batting superstar Virat Kohli had to deal with trolls during his first training session in Colombo ahead of a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Kohli was seen doing shadow practice in the dressing room with his teammates when chants of 'Chokli, Chokli' were heard from the background. The T20 World Cup champion quickly turned his head toward the chant and looked seemingly unhappy with the chants. IndiaToday.in was not able to verify the authenticity of the video and the chants in the video that was circulating on social media. 'Chokli' is a derogatory term that trolls on social media have used to target the batter whenever he suffers a rare failure with the bat. The term is a mix of Virat Kohli and 'Choker'.  Virat Kohli is in Sri Lanka for the three-match ODI series, starting August 2. Kohli and Rohit Sharma were included in the 15-man squad for the ODI series, which is the first assignment for head coach Gautam Gambhir in the format. Kohli and Rohit will look to combine well with the new head coach as India begin their preparation for the Champions Trophy. Virat Kohli silenced his naysayers in the T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies, hitting a match-winning 76 off 59 against South Africa in the big final. On a day when India's big guns, including Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav failed to get going, Kohli stepped up and shone on the biggest of all stages, helping India post 176, which turned out to be a winning total.Virat Kohli won the Player of the Match award in the final as India ended their 11-year-long wait for an ICC trophy in men's cricket. India are heading into the ODI series on the back of a 3-0 win in the T20I series. Suryakumar Yadav and Gautam Gambhir's combination tasted success in its first assignment as India took a lot of positives with a young team.
