Rohit Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav were spotted at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo where they waited for the rain to stop before deciding to go back to the hotel. Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav and Harshit Rana also checked into the ITC Ratnadipa hotel in Colombo. To facilitate the training session for the five players selected exclusively for the ODI leg of the Sri Lanka tour, assistant coach Abhishek Nayar travelled to Colombo from Pallekele after India won the second T20I on Sunday night. Abhishek Nayar was seen having tea as Rohit Sharma and former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews met inside the Premadasa Stadium. Mathews has been dropped from the T20I squad after Sri Lanka's dismal performance at the T20 World Cup 2024. The rest of the coaching staff and players part of the ODI series will join Rohit & Co. after completion of the third and final T20I in Pallekele on Tuesday, July 30. India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Rohit, Kohli and Kuldeep are returning to action for the first time after India won the T20 World Cup in Barbados on June 29. Shreyas Iyer has also been called back for the first time after being dropped from the central contract list of the BCCI.
