India's women's cricket team recently faced defeat in the Asia Cup T20, 2024. After this, India will play in the T20 World Cup 2024 to be played in Bangladesh from October 3. However, before this, former player Mithali Raj has revealed the biggest shortcoming of Team India. Apart from this, Mithali has also shared her suggestions for Team India.

Mithali said, “India is going to participate in the biggest tournament, the T20 Women's World Cup, in October. I think the area India should really focus on improving is the No. 3 batting position. They are still looking for the right batsman to go in at No. 3. They have tried Hemalatha and they have tried Chhetri.”

The former captain further added, “Harmanpreet Kaur bats at number four in the batting lineup and Raj said that the number three batsman should be someone who can carry forward the good start given by their openers Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma. Barring the final, the Indian openers dominated the entire campaign and the middle order could not withstand the pressure.”

He further added, “They need to have someone who can really go big after the opening partnership that Shefali and Smriti provide. Also, the bowling aspect needs to be looked at as they are going in with only 5 bowlers right now. They probably need a sixth bowler, someone like an all-rounder who can bowl a few overs as well as bat. I think these are the areas that India should improve before going into the World Cup.”

Mithali Raj concluded her statement by saying, “My message to Team India would be to play good cricket, play hard cricket and compete. I believe you all have a great chance because it is in Bangladesh, a place where the conditions are in our favour. Our strength has always been the spinners and this time our batting is also performing well. So, best of luck to you all.”
