India will host the Asia Cup in 2025, which will be played in T20 format, while the hosting rights of the next edition in 2027 in the 50-over format have been allotted to Bangladesh. The previous Asia Cup in 2023 was hosted by Pakistan in a Hybrid Model, with the Men in Blue emerging as winners.
India previously hosted the tournament in 1990/91, where they clinched the trophy at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The future editions will be of 13 games per edition.
The Women’s T20 Asia Cup will be played in 2026, but the host nation hasn’t been named.
The Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup will be conducted in 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 respectively. It will be interesting to see how Pakistan react to the development as they are currently at loggerheads with the BCCI over India’s visit to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy. The apex body of Indian cricket doesn’t want to send their team to the neighboring country and will urge the ICC to organize the ICC event in a hybrid model.
On the other hand, there are reports that India refuse to play in Pakistan, and the PCB will boycott the 2026 T20 World Cup in India.
