Paris Olympics 2024 News In Hindi: The Indian pair of Rohan Bopanna and N Sriram Balaji lost in straight sets to the French duo of Gael Monfils and Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the first round of the men's doubles of the Paris 2024 Olympics at Court 14 of Roland-Garros on Sunday.

Veselin defeated Balaji 7-5, 6-2 in one hour and 16 minutes to enter the second round where he will face second seeded German pair of Tim Puetz and Kevin Krawietz.

The Indian pair did not have a good start in the first set. They fell behind 2-4 after losing the initial break. However, they bounced back and got the break and levelled the game at 5-5. Just when it looked like the game might go to a tiebreaker, the French pair got their second break and won the first set in 42 minutes.

The second set proved to be even more one-sided. Once again, Bopanna and Balaji lost their serve early, putting them in trouble again. This time, they were unable to gain the lead, as Monfils and Roger-Vasselin won with ease.

Earlier, India's only player in men's singles, Sumit Nagal, lost to France's Corentin Moutet in three sets in the first round. With this defeat, the Indian challenge in tennis at the Paris Olympics has ended.
