Star shooter Manu Bhaker performed brilliantly on Sunday and ended the 12-year drought and brought the country its first medal in shooting at the Olympics. Manu Bhaker performed brilliantly in the final of the women's 10 meter air pistol played in Paris and finished third and with this she won the bronze medal.

Manu also opened the medal account for the country in the Paris Olympics. She also became the country's first female shooter to win a medal in the Olympics. Manu won the bronze medal with 221.7 points in the final match of 8 shooters.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also congratulated Manu Bhaker for her success. India has got its first medal in shooting in the Olympic Games after 12 years. This is India's first Olympic medal in shooting after the London Olympics in 2012. Indian shooters failed to win medals in the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
