The Auckland ACES are heading to Nelson to take on the Central Stags at Saxton, as they aim to keep their unbeaten Ford Trophy run alive.
Following a win over Canterbury in their opening fixture, the ACES made it two from two with a victory against Northern Districts at Bay Oval on Saturday.
Skipper Sean Solia produced a standout all-round display against ND. With the bat, he built his innings steadily before showing composure and determination to help position Auckland for the win. He was equally impressive with the ball, and his bowling rotations and field settings played a key role in shaping the result.
Solia sits second on the competition's run-scoring charts and joint sixth among the wicket-takers going into round three, highlighting his impact on Auckland's strong start. Angus Olliver and Harry Cullen-Hieatt also made important contributions with the ball against ND.
Bevon Jacobs rejoins the ACES squad after a successful series against India, where he averaged 45.33 at a strike rate of 146.24. Samrath Singh has also been added to the 12-player squad for the third round.
With two wins secured and Jacobs back in the fold, the ACES travel to Saxton Oval eager to carry their early momentum forward. Wednesday's match against the Central Stags allows Auckland to make it three wins from three.
