Naman Dhir and Nitish Kumar Reddy have impressed in T20Is and are currently featuring in the five-match series against New Zealand. Tilak Varma, meanwhile, has been contributing with the bat in pressure situations. Dhir made 31 and 42 in the last two T20Is, while Nitish struck an unbeaten 26 off 13 balls batting at No. 8 and also picked up a wicket. According to former India player Subramaniam Badrinath, the performances of these two all-rounders have made things difficult for Shivam Dube.

"I won't say his career is over, considering the team's injury track record.
But it will be difficult for Shivam Dube to break into the starting XI again. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Naman Dhir are performing well as all-rounders. They are batting, bowling and fielding well," he said.

"Dube is one-dimensional. He can hit spinners for big shots and give the team two overs of bowling. He is not a good fielder. Fielding and fitness are areas where Dube is not good. It is going to be tough for him to return to the playing group."

Badrinath heaped massive praise on Dhir. "Naman Dhir's knock in the second T20I was underrated.
The situation was tough, but he batted brilliantly without taking any pressure. Even Tilak Varma spoke about Dhir's knock after the match. He bowls off-spin as well," he added.

Meanwhile, Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson will not play the third T20I between New Zealand and India at Hutt Recreation Ground on Tuesday. It is a must-win game for the Kiwis, who trail 0-2. India won the series opener by four wickets and repeated the result in the second game. India will be without Ishan Kishan, who has not recovered from injury.
