After missing Australia tour, fresh injury setback rules Nahid Rana out of West Indies series

Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana is set to miss the upcoming two-Test series against West Indies after being diagnosed with a labrum tear. The injury has also raised doubts over his availability for Bangladesh's two-Test tour of South Africa in November.
The pacer was initially believed to be suffering from weakness in his back and pelvic area, but the board decided to send him overseas for a second opinion.
Rana was left out of Bangladesh's 15-member squad for the first Test against West Indies in Mirpur, announced on Friday. He is now expected to miss the entire two-match series.
“Yes, a labrum tear has been detected,” a BCB official was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz. “He has already been given an injection in Australia and he has started his rehabilitation program. He is likely to bowl on Friday (October 30)."
The latest injury is another setback for Rana, who had been working towards a return after suffering a grade-two side strain during Bangladesh's tour of Zimbabwe in July. That injury ruled him out of the tour of Australia, the Asian Games and the one-off Test against Afghanistan.
Rana then suffered a fresh glute injury during his rehabilitation, which forced him to miss the tri-series in the UAE involving Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh will host West Indies in a two-Test series beginning on October 28 before travelling to South Africa for a tour comprising two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is. The South Africa tour is scheduled to begin on November 15.
