Virat Kohli assured to return to the team, but after becoming the captain he stopped picking up the phone! The recent revelations of former Indian cricket team's veteran spinner Amit Mishra have sparked a new debate in the cricket world. According to Mishra, he was assured of returning to Team India after recovering from injury, but when he sought answers regarding his return, he was disappointed. In such a situation, the question is arising whether Amit Mishra's international career ended due to misunderstandings and lack of communication?

Perhaps even he had not imagined the way Amit Mishra's international career ended. Mishra, one of the experienced leg spinners of his time, made many memorable performances for India, but the T20 International match played in England in 2017 proved to be the last match of his career. At that time Anil Kumble was the head coach of the Indian team, while Virat Kohli was handling the responsibility of captain.

According to Mishra, he had to leave the team after suffering a leg injury in Bengaluru. After this he talked to Anil Kumble about his return. Kumble assured him that he can return to the team once he is fully fit. After this Mishra also contacted Virat Kohli. He claims that Virat had also assured him that once he felt fit and comfortable, the way for his comeback could be opened.

However, according to Amit Mishra, the real trouble started after recovering from the injury. When he became fit, he contacted Virat Kohli and asked questions about his return to the team. He called and sent messages, but did not get any clear response. Mishra revealed this entire incident in the 'Beyond the Ball' podcast with Aakash Chopra.

Mishra told that Virat had told him to reply within a week to 10 days. But a week passed, then 2 weeks and then 3 weeks passed. Despite this, he did not receive any information regarding his return. When he did not get a response even after repeated attempts to contact him, he gradually gave up his efforts.

The former spinner also claimed that some players who suffered more serious injuries than him and were out of the team for a long time, got a chance to make a comeback, but they did not get a place in the Indian team again. The most disappointing thing for him was that he was never clearly told why he could not return.

Amit Mishra's pain is clearly visible in his statement. He raised the question that when someone does not want to keep you in the team, then what can you do? According to him, even after so many years have passed, he could not find out the reason for the sudden end of his international career.

However, based on this revelation by Mishra, it would not be correct to say that Virat Kohli deliberately betrayed him. What is clear from his words is that he did not get a clear answer regarding his return and this situation disappointed him. On the other hand, it would be too early to draw a final conclusion on the entire incident without Virat Kohli's side being heard in this matter.

This revelation by Amit Mishra, who is now playing the role of spin bowling coach of Delhi Capitals, has raised an important question regarding the communication between players and team management in Indian cricket. After all, how did the international career of a player who was given hope of making a comeback after becoming fit, end without any clear answer? This is the question for which Amit Mishra is still seen searching for answers.
